ZONEIT - AUSTRALIA SUPPLEMENTAL PRIVACY NOTICE

Zoneit and its affiliates ("Zoneit") maintain a global privacy program as described in our Universal Terms of Service Agreement. This Australian Privacy Notice supplements our global privacy policies by providing additional disclosures required by federal, state, and territorial laws of Australia.

Definition of Personal Information​

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), "Personal Information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

  • Whether the information or opinion is true or not

  • Whether the information or opinion is recorded in material form or not

For the purposes of Zoneit's privacy policies and this supplement, "Personal Data" includes "Personal Information" as defined by the Privacy Act.

Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) Compliance​

We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles established under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This includes:

Collection and Use​

  • We only collect Personal Information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities

  • We collect information through lawful and fair means

  • We provide notice about our collection and use of Personal Information

  • We obtain consent where required by law

Data Quality and Security​

  • We take reasonable steps to ensure Personal Information is accurate and up-to-date

  • We implement appropriate security measures to protect Personal Information

  • We maintain an information security management framework

  • We regularly assess and update our security practices

Access and Correction​

  • You have the right to access your Personal Information

  • You can request corrections to inaccurate information

  • We will respond to requests within 30 days

  • We will provide reasons for any access or correction refusal

Victorian Privacy and Data Protection Standards​

As our services are primarily operated from Victoria, we comply with:

  • Victorian Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014

  • Victorian Protective Data Security Standards

  • Other applicable Victorian privacy regulations

Data Storage and Processing​

Location of Data​

  • Primary data storage and processing occurs in Australia

  • Backup and disaster recovery systems are maintained within Australia

  • We use secure facilities compliant with Australian standards

International Data Transfers​

When we transfer Personal Information internationally:

  • We ensure compliance with Australian privacy laws

  • We implement appropriate data transfer mechanisms

  • We maintain control over data security

  • We only transfer data where necessary for our services

Your Privacy Rights​

Under Australian law, you have the right to:

  • Access your Personal Information

  • Correct inaccurate Personal Information

  • Object to direct marketing

  • Withdraw previous consent

  • Request deletion of your information (where reasonable)

Security Incident Response​

In case of a data breach:

  • We will assess if it qualifies as a Notifiable Data Breach

  • We will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required

  • We will take steps to contain and remediate the breach

  • We will conduct post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence

Marketing Communications​

For direct marketing:

  • We obtain consent where required

  • We provide clear opt-out mechanisms

  • We honor marketing preferences

  • We comply with Spam Act 2003 requirements

Anonymity and Pseudonymity​

Where lawful and practicable, you may:

  • Deal with us anonymously

  • Use a pseudonym

  • Opt out of identification requirements
